3 F1Use of force in making arrest etc.N.I.
(1)A person may use such force as is reasonable in the circumstances in the prevention of crime, or in effecting or assisting in the lawful arrest of offenders or suspected offenders or of persons unlawfully at large.
(2)Subsection (1) shall replace the rules of the common law as to the matters dealt with by that subsection.
