36Interpretation of Part 1

In this Part—

  • “the 1983 Act” means the Representation of the People Act 1983 (c. 2),

  • “the 2000 Act” means the Representation of the People Act 2000 (c. 2).

Any word or expression used in this Part which is also used in the 1983 Act has the same meaning for the purposes of this Part as it has for the purposes of that Act.

Subsection (2)—

a

does not apply to any reference to “enactment”, and

b

is subject to section 7(9).
