(1)Ministers must make available to chief constables of police forces [F1, the Scottish Police Services Authority and the Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency ]

(a)the name of each individual participating in the Scheme,

(b)confirmation of whether each such individual participates in the Scheme in relation to regulated work with—

(i)children,

(ii)adults, or

(iii)both, and

(c)any other information held by Ministers by virtue of their administration of the Scheme which Ministers consider would enable or assist police forces [F2, the Scottish Police Services Authority or the Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency ] to satisfy themselves as to the identity of such individuals.

(2)Information disclosed under subsection (1) may be used by police forces [F3, the Scottish Police Services Authority and the Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency] only for the purpose of—

(a)enabling or assisting them to perform their functions under or by virtue of this Part,

(b)the prevention or detection of crime, or

(c)the apprehension or prosecution of offenders.
