Aujeszky’s Disease Scheme Order (Northern Ireland) 2012

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order revokes and remakes a Scheme which in conjunction with the Aujeszky’s Disease Order (Northern Ireland) 2012 provides for the monitoring and surveillance of Aujeszky’s Disease in Northern Ireland.

The main provisions of the Scheme are as follows—

1.  Paragraph 3 makes provision for allocation of pig health status to each holding.

2.  Paragraph 4 makes provision for routine sampling.

3.  Paragraph 5 makes provision for risk based sampling.

4.  Paragraph 6 sets out the requirements for samples taken under paragraphs 4, 5 and Schedule 2.

5.  Paragraph 8 specifies the powers of entry of an authorised officer for the purpose of taking any samples.
