PART 1 INTRODUCTORY

Citation and commencement

1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Enforcement of Fines and Other Penalties Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2018 and shall come into operation on the 1st June 2018.

Interpretation

2.  In these Regulations—

“the Act” means the Justice Act (Northern Ireland) 2016;

“the Department” means the Department of Justice;

“proper officer” means—

(a)

if the responsible court is the Crown Court, the chief clerk; or

(b)

if the responsible court is a magistrates’ court, the clerk of petty sessions.
