The Attorney General’s Human Rights Guidance (Domestic Abuse and Stalking) Order (Northern Ireland) 2018

The Attorney General:

(a)has, in pursuance of section 8(1) of the Justice (Northern Ireland) Act 2004(1), issued guidance on international human rights standards relevant to domestic abuse and stalking in respect of the Police Service of Northern Ireland, the Public Prosecution Service for Northern Ireland, the Probation Board for Northern Ireland and the Northern Ireland Courts and Tribunals Service;

(b)has, in accordance with section 8(3)(a) of the Justice (Northern Ireland) Act 2004, published that guidance on his website;

(c)has, in accordance with section 8(3)(b) of that Act, laid that guidance before the Assembly(2);

(d)has, in accordance with section 8(1A) and section 8(5A) of that Act, consulted the Advocate General for Northern Ireland(3).

The Attorney General, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 8(3)(c) of that Act, makes the following order:

‘the Northern Ireland Assembly’ substituted for ‘each house of Parliament’ by paragraph 81(2) of Schedule 14 to the Northern Ireland Act 1998 (Devolution of Policing and Justice Functions) Order 2010 (S.I. 2010/976).

Inserted by section 8(9) of the Justice (Northern Ireland) Act 2004 and paragraph 7A of Schedule 7 of the Justice (Northern Ireland) Act 2002.
