Amendment of the Genetically Modified Organisms (Risk Assessment) (Records and Exemptions) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1996 N.I.

4.—(1) The Genetically Modified Organisms (Risk Assessment) (Records and Exemptions) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1996(1) are amended as follows.

(2) In regulation 4 (Exemptions for requirements to carry out risk assessments)—

(a) in sub-paragraph (2)(b)(i), for “Schedule 1”, substitute “Schedule 2”;

(b) in sub-paragraph (2)(b)(ii), for “regulation 3(3) of and Part III of Schedule 1”, substitute “regulation 3(1) of, and Part 3 of Schedule 2”;

(c) in sub-paragraph (2)(c) for “Council Regulation (EEC) No. 2309/93”, substitute “Regulation (EC) No 726/2004(2) of the European Parliament and the Council of 31 March 2004 laying down Community procedures for the authorisation and supervision of medicinal products for human and veterinary use and establishing a European Medicines Agency, as last amended by Regulation (EU) 1027/2012(3)”;

(d) in sub-paragraph (2)(e) for “Regulation (EC) No 258/97 of the European Parliament and of the Council”, substitute “Regulation (EU) 2015/2283 of the European Parliament and of the Council on novel foods(4)”.
