The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 28 and 33(4) of the Nurses (Scotland) Act 1951(1), and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Nurses Agencies (Increase of Licence Fees) (Scotland) Regulations 2001, and shall come into force on 1st August 2001.
2. In regulation 3(4) of the Nurses Agencies (Scotland) Regulations 1961(2) (which prescribes the fees payable upon making a first and subsequent application for a licence to carry on an agency for the supply of nurses) for “£4 4s. 0d.” there shall be substituted “£175” and for “£2 2s. 0d.” there shall be substituted “£125”.
3. The Nurse Agencies (Increase of Licence Fees) (Scotland) Regulations 1968(3) are hereby revoked.

These Regulations increase from £4.20 to £175 the fee payable on making a first application to a local authority for an annual licence to carry on an agency for the supply of nurses and increase from £2.10 to £125 the fee payable on making a subsequent application in respect of that agency.
1951 c. 55. The functions of the Secretary of State were transferred to the Scottish Ministers by virtue of section 53 of the Scotland Act 1998 (c. 46).
