The Scottish Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 90(2) of the Coronavirus Act 2020(1) and all other powers enabling them to do so.
The Scottish Ministers are satisfied that the conditions specified in section 90(9) of that Act are satisfied in relation to the provisions for which the expiry date is altered by these Regulations.
1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Coronavirus Act 2020 (Alteration of Expiry Date) (Scotland) Regulations 2022 and come into force on 24 March 2022.
(2) In these Regulations, “the Act” means the Coronavirus Act 2020.
2. The following provisions of the Act do not expire at the time when they would otherwise expire by virtue of section 89 of the Act and expire instead on 24 September 2022—
(a)section 18(2) (registration of deaths and still-births etc) and Part 2 of schedule 13 (registration of deaths and still-births),
(b)section 36 (vaccination and immunisation: Scotland),
(c)section 37(2) (temporary closure of educational institutions and childcare premises) and the following provisions of Part 2 of schedule 16 (temporary closure of educational institutions and childcare premises)—
(i)paragraph 6,
(ii)paragraph 7, except so far as it relates to a direction under paragraph 8 of schedule 16,
(iii)paragraph 8(6) to (8),
(iv)paragraphs 10 and 11,
(v)paragraphs 12 and 13, except so far as they relate to a direction under paragraph 8 of schedule 16,
(d)section 38(2) (temporary continuity: education, training and childcare) and Part 2 of schedule 17 (temporary continuity directions etc: education, training and childcare),
(e)section 49 (health protection regulations: Scotland) and schedule 19 (health protection regulations: Scotland).

These Regulations amend the expiry date of certain provisions of the Coronavirus Act 2020 (“the Act”) so that they expire on 24 September 2022 instead of at the end of 24 March 2022, as is provided for by section 89 of the Act.
Regulation 2 sets out the provisions for which the expiry date will change to 24 September 2022.
Impact assessments have not been prepared for this instrument.
