Draft Legislation:

This is a draft item of legislation. This draft has since been made as a UK Statutory Instrument: The Competition Act 1998 and Other Enactments (Amendment) Regulations 2004 No. 1261

Interpretation

2.  In these Regulations—

“the 1998 Act” means the Competition Act 1998(1);

“the appointed day” means the 1st May 2004;

“the EC Competition Regulation” means Council Regulation (EC) No. 1/2003 of 16th December 2002 on the implementation of the rules on competition laid down in Articles 81 and 82 of the Treaty(2);

“the OFT” means the Office of Fair Trading; and

“the Treaty” means the treaty establishing the European Community.
