2 Police authorities for counties and county boroughs. E+W
(1)The police authority for [F1a police area consisting of a non-metropolitan county] . . . F2 shall be a committee of the council of the county . . . F2 constituted in accordance with the provisions of this section, to be known . . . F2 as the police committee . . . F2
(2)The police committee for [F3a police area consisting of a non-metropolitan county] shall consist of such number of persons as may be determined by the council of the county, and of that number—
(a)two thirds shall be members of the council of the county appointed by that council;

(4)The magistrates to be appointed members of a police committee . . .
