(3)This Part of this Act shall be construed as one with the M1Mines and Quarries Act 1954 (in this Part of this Act referred to as “the principal Act”) and, without prejudice to the generality of this provision,—
(a)except where the context otherwise requires, any reference in theprincipal Act to that Act includes a reference to this Part of thisAct and expressions used in that Act have the same meaning in thisPart of this Act as in that Act; and
(b)the principal Act shall have effect subject to the modifications inSchedule 1 to this Act.
