6BThe other provisions of Part I of this Schedule shall apply to an authority mentioned in paragraph 6A above as they apply to a principal council except that [F8(a)] the number of members mentioned in paragraph 3(2) shall be three [F9, and . . . F10]
F9(b)in the case of a police authority established under [F11section 3 of the Police Act 1996][F12and the Metropolitan Police Authority][F13 , or of the Service Authority for the National Crime Squad,] sub-paragraphs (2) and (3) of paragraph 5 shall not apply and if the chairman is absent from a meeting of such an authority [F14the following person shall preside—
(i)in a case in which only one vice-chairman is present at the meeting, that vice-chairman;
(ii)in a case in which more than one vice-chairman is present at the meeting, the vice-chairman chosen by the members present; and
(iii)in any other case, the member chosen by the members present;][F15, and
(c)in the case of the Service Authority for the National Crime Squad, paragraph 4(2) shall apply as if the reference to three clear days were a reference to seven clear days.]
