142 Public health

(1) For the purposes of the enactments to which this section applies, the local authority and sanitary authority shall be an islands or district council.

(2) This section applies to the following enactments—

(a) The [1897 c. 38.] Public Health (Scotland) Act 1897 ;

(b) The [1906 c. 14.] Alkali, Etc., Works Regulation Act 1906 ;

(c) The [1945 c. 15.] Public Health (Scotland) Act 1945 ;

(d) Part I of the [1949 c. 55.] Prevention of Damage by Pests Act 1949 ;

(e) The [1951 c. 63.] Rag, Flock and Other Filling Materials Act 1951;

(f) The [1956 c. 52.] Clean Air Acts 1956 and [1968 c. 62.] 1968 ;

(g) The [1960 c. 68.] Noise Abatement Act 1960 ;

(h) The [1968 c. 46.] Health Services and Public Health Act 1968, except section 65 thereof.
