156 Minimum basic award.E+W+S

(1)Where a dismissal is unfair by virtue of section 152(1) or 153, the amount of the basic award of compensation, before any reduction is made under subsection (7A), (7B) or (9) of section 73 of the M1Employment Protection (Consolidation) Act 1978, shall be not less than [F1£2,770].

(2)But where the dismissal is unfair by virtue of section 153, subsection (7B) of that section (reduction for contributory fault) applies in relation to so much of the basic award as is payable because of subsection (1) above.
