10(1)[F2The Treasury may by regulations] make provision as to the manner in which, and the person through whom, any sickness payment which, by virtue of section 4(1) above, is to be treated as remuneration derived from employed earner’s employment is to be made.N.I.
(2)In any case where regulations made under sub-paragraph (1) above have the effect of requiring a registered friendly society (within the meaning of the [F3Friendly Societies Act 1974]) to make amendments to its rules, the amendments may, notwithstanding any provision of those rules, be made in accordance with the procedure prescribed by regulations made by the [F3Chief Registrar of Friendly Societies] for the purposes of this paragraph.
F4[(3)The power conferred by sub-paragraph (2) above on the Chief Registrar of Friendly Societies to make regulations shall be exercisable by statutory instrument, and—
(a)the Statutory Instruments Act 1946 shall apply to that power as if the Chief Registrar were a Minister of the Crown, and
(b)section 171(3) to (5) above shall apply to those regulations as they apply to regulations made by the Department.]
