4(1)A fire engine is an exempt vehicle.E+W
(2)In sub-paragraph (1) “fire engine” means a vehicle which—
(a)is constructed or adapted for use for the purpose of fire fighting or salvage (or both), and
[F1(b)is used solely for purposes in relation to which a fire and rescue authority under the Fire and Rescue Services Act 2004 has functions (whoever uses it for those purposes).]
