Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996, Paragraph 31 is up to date with all changes known to be in force on or before 05 March 2025. There are changes that may be brought into force at a future date. Changes that have been made appear in the content and are referenced with annotations.
31(1)In section 74 for subsection (1) substitute—U.K.
“(1)The Evidence of Alibi Act (Northern Ireland) 1972 shall cease to have effect.”
(2)In section 74 omit subsections (2) and (3).
(3)In section 74 for subsection (4) substitute—
“(4)In Article 8(6) of the Criminal Justice (Serious Fraud) (Northern Ireland) Order 1988 (disclosure in cases involving fraud) in sub-paragraph (a) for the words “section 1 of the Evidence of Alibi Act (Northern Ireland) 1972” there shall be substituted the words “section 5(7) of the Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996”.”
