Greater London Authority Act 1999, Cross Heading: Obtaining community views on policing is up to date with all changes known to be in force on or before 09 March 2025. There are changes that may be brought into force at a future date. Changes that have been made appear in the content and are referenced with annotations.
103(1)Section 96 of the M1Police Act 1996 (arrangements to be made for each police area for obtaining the views of the community about policing) shall be amended as follows.U.K.
(2)In subsection (2)—
(a)for “subsections (3) to (6)” there shall be substituted “ subsection (6) ”; and
(b)after “chief constable” there shall be inserted “ or, in the case of the metropolitan police district, the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis, ”.
(3)Subsections (3) to (5) (which make provision about consultation about arrangements for the metropolitan police district) shall cease to have effect.
