6E+WIn section 7 (welfare reports), in subsections (1)(a) and (b) and (5), after “an officer of the Service” insert “ or a Welsh family proceedings officer ”.
7E+WIn section 16 (family assistance orders), in subsection (1), after “an officer of the Service” insert “ or a Welsh family proceedings officer ”.
8(1)Section 26 (review of cases etc) is amended as follows.E+W
(2)In subsection (2A)(c) after “Service” insert “ or a Welsh family proceedings officer ”.
(3)After subsection (2C) insert—
“(2D)The power to make regulations in subsection (2C) is exercisable in relation to functions of Welsh family proceedings officers only with the consent of the National Assembly for Wales.”

Asesiadau Effaith
Impact Assessments generally accompany all UK Government interventions of a regulatory nature that affect the private sector, civil society organisations and public services. They apply regardless of whether the regulation originates from a domestic or international source and can accompany primary (Acts etc) and secondary legislation (SIs). An Impact Assessment allows those with an interest in the policy area to understand:
- Why the government is proposing to intervene;
- The main options the government is considering, and which one is preferred;
- How and to what extent new policies may impact on them; and,
- The estimated costs and benefits of proposed measures.
