1The [F1Senedd] U.K.
(1)There is to be [F2a parliament] for Wales to be known as [F3Senedd Cymru or the Welsh Parliament (referred to in this Act as “the Senedd].
[F4(2)There are—
(a)16 Senedd constituencies, and
(b)six seats for each constituency, and
the Senedd is to consist of the members for those constituencies.]
[F5(2A)Members of the Senedd are to be known by that name or as Aelodau o'r Senedd.]
(3)[F6Members of the Senedd] are to be returned in accordance with the provision made by and under this Act for—
(a)the holding of general elections of [F7Members of the Senedd] (for the return of the entire [F1Senedd]), and
(b)the filling of vacancies in [F1Senedd] seats.
(4)The validity of any [F1Senedd] proceedings is not affected by any vacancy in its membership.
(5)In this Act “ [F1Senedd] proceedings” means any proceedings of—
(a)the [F1Senedd],
(b)committees of the [F1Senedd], or
(c)sub-committees of such committees.
