The War Pensions (Naval Auxiliary Personnel) Scheme 1964

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Scheme is made in consequence of the Order in Council dated 25th September 1964 which consolidated, inter alia, the provisions, previously contained in the Order in Council dated 29th September 1949 and subsequent amending Orders, relating to pensions and other awards in respect of disablement or death due to service in the naval forces since 2nd September 1939.

The Scheme, in applying the 1964 Order in Council with modifications, provides for naval auxiliaries and their dependants benefits similar to those provided for members of the Royal Navy and replaces, with amendments only of a drafting nature or designed to remove minor doubts and inconsistencies, the War Pensions (Naval Auxiliary Personnel) Scheme 1949, which applied in like manner the provisions of the 1949 Order in Council.
