PART IIIPAYMENTS ON DEATH

6.—(1) Where any money is payable out of the funds of a trade union on the death of a member, the trade union may, without letters of administration or probate of any will or confirmation, pay out or distribute (otherwise than in accordance with a nomination) an amount not exceeding £1,500 to the person or persons the trade union considers to be entitled by law to receive it.

(2) Where any person to whom a payment may be made under this paragraph is under the age of 16 years the trade union may make the payment to any person who satisfies it that he will apply the moneys for the maintenance or benefit of the first mentioned person.
