The Milk and Dairies and Milk (Special Designation) (Charges) (Amendment) Regulations 1992

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations, which apply to England and Wales, further amend the Milk and Dairies and Milk (Special Designation) (Charges) Regulations 1990 as amended.

The Regulations impose a revised charge for visits to dairy farms for the sole purpose of taking samples of milk by persons authorised by the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the Secretary of State for Wales for the purpose of ascertaining whether provisions of the Milk (Special Designation) Regulations 1989 are being complied with. The charges for dairy farm visits other than for the sole purpose of taking samples of milk remain unchanged.

The Regulations delete the references to the sampling of water as one of the purposes of a dairy farm visit, as Local Authorities are now responsible for sampling private water supplies under the Private Water Supply Regulations 1991 S.I. 1991/2790.

The charges are set out in the table below:—
