8.—[F2(1) A person is a youth training trainee on a particular day if, on that day he is—E+W
(a)under the age of 25; and
(b)undertaking training—
(i)pursuant to arrangements made under section 2 of the Employment and Training Act 1973,
(ii)which is funded by the [F3[F4Secretary of State under section 14 of the Education Act 2002] or [F5under section 100 of the Apprenticeships, Skills, Children and Learning Act 2009]].]
(2) A person is to be regarded as undertaking training on a particular day for the purposes of paragraph (1) if the day falls within the relevant period for that course.]
