The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 1(1) and (2) and section 24(1) and (3) of the Food and Environment Protection Act 1985(1), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Food Protection (Emergency Prohibitions) (Oil and Chemical Pollution of Fish) (No.2) (Partial Revocation No.2) Order 1993 and shall come into force on 8th December 1993.

Partial revocation

2.  The Food Protection (Emergency Prohibitions) (Oil and Chemical Pollution of Fish) (No.2) Order 1993(2)is hereby revoked insofar as it applies in relation to farmed salmon which smolted in 1993 and were introduced into waters in the designated area on or after 1st March 1993.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order revokes the Food Protection (Emergency Prohibitions) (Oil and Chemical Pollution of Fish) (No.2) Order 1993 insofar as it applies to farmed salmon which smolted in 1993 and were introduced into waters in the designated area on or after 1st March 1993.

That Order contains emergency prohibitions restricting various activities in order to prevent human consumption of food rendered unsuitable for that purpose by virtue of fish having been affected by oil and other chemical pollutants. The prohibitions in that Order will remain in place for shellfish and for farmed salmon present in the designated area before 1st March 1993.
