The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 73(1)(a), and (6)(a) of the Civil Aviation Act 1982(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and with the consent of the Treasury, hereby makes the following Regulations:

1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Civil Aviation (Navigation Services Charges) (Third Amendment) Regulations 1999 and shall come into force on 1st June 1999.

2.  The Civil Aviation (Navigation Services Charges) Regulations 1998(2) shall be amended as follows:

(1) In regulation 7(1) for “a charge of £123.00” there shall be substituted “a charge of £147.00”.

(2) In regulation 7(3) for “a charge of £39.00” there shall be substituted “a charge of £55.00”.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations amend the Civil Aviation (Navigation Services Charges) Regulations 1998 (“the principal Regulations”) as follows:

(1) The charge payable to the CAA by the operator of a helicopter which flies from any place in the United Kingdom to a vessel or an off-shore installation within the area of the Northern North Sea described in regulation 7(2) of the principal Regulations is increased from £123 to £147 (regulation 2(1)).

(2) The charge payable to the CAA by an operator of a helicopter which flies from any place in the United Kingdom to a vessel or an off-shore installation within the area of the Southern North Sea described in regulation 7(4) of the principal Regulations is increased from £39 to £55 (regulation 2(2)).
