1. This Order may be cited as the A50 Trunk Road (Uttoxeter Service Area, Staffordshire) Order 1999 and shall come into force on 10th June 1999.
2. In this Order—
(1) all measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway;
(2) (i) “the new roads” means the new highways which the Secretary of State proposes to construct along the routes described in the Schedule to this Order;
(ii)“the trunk road” means the A50 Trunk Road in the District of Uttoxeter in the County of Staffordshire; and
(iii)“the plan” means the plan numbered HA10/1M/007 marked “The A50 Trunk Road (Uttoxeter Service Area, Staffordshire) Order 1999”, signed by the authority of the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions and deposited at the Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions, Zone 2/C8 Ashdown House, Victoria Street, London SW1E 6DE.
3. The new roads shall become trunk roads from the date when this Order comes into force.
4. The centre line of each of the new roads is indicated by a heavy black line on the plan.

The routes of the new roads are as follows:—
(i)a new route, about 190 metres in length, from a point 250 metres west of the existing junction between the trunk road and the A522 to a point on the A522 road 195 metres west of that junction
(ii)a new route, about 30 metres in length, from a point on the trunk road 40 metres south of its junction with the A522
all in the District of Uttoxeter in the County of Staffordshire.
