The Borough of Taunton Deane (Electoral Changes) (Amendment) Order 2000

This instrument is made for the purpose of correcting errors in Schedule 1 to S.I. 1998/2461 and is being issued, free of charge, to all known recipients of that statutory instrument.

Coming into force in accordance with article 1(2)

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 17 and 26 of the Local Government Act 1992(1), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement [and interpretation]

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Borough of Taunton Deane (Electoral Changes) (Amendment) Order 2000.

(2) This Order shall come into force on the day after that on which it is made.

Amendment of Order

2.  The Borough of Taunton Deane (Electoral Changes) Order 1998(2) is amended, in column (2) of Schedule 1,—

(a)by the substitution for “Langford, Budville” of “Langford Budville”; and

(b)in respect of the column (1) entry “Stoke St. Gregory”, by the insertion of “The parishes of Burrowbridge and Stoke St. Gregory”.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order corrects errors in the District of Taunton Deane (Electoral Changes) Order 1998. The amendment made by article 2(a) clarifies that the parish included in the Bradford-on-Tone ward is the parish of Langford Budville. The amendment made by article 2(b) provides that the area of the ward of Stoke St. Gregory comprises the parishes of Burrowbridge and Stoke St. Gregory.
