Punishment of false statement in application or declaration made under regulation 6(1) and (2)U.K.
7.—(1) A person who makes a statement which he knows to be false in an application or declaration required by regulation 6(1) and (2) above is guilty of an offence and liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding level 3 on the standard scale.
(2) The provisions of Part III of the 1983 Act relating to the prosecution of offences, as applied by regulations made under the European Parliamentary Elections Act 1978 , shall have effect in relation to an offence under this regulation as they have effect in relation to an offence under the 1983 Act as so applied.
