The Secretary of State for Education and Skills, in exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by sections 22(1) and (2), 42(6) and 43(1) of the Teaching and Higher Education Act 1998(1), hereby makes the following Regulations:

1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Student Support) (Dance and Drama) (Amendment) Regulations 2001 and shall come into force on 1st September 2001.

2.  The Education (Student Support) (Dance and Drama) Regulations 1999(2) shall be amended as follows.

3.  In regulation 4(d)—

(a)in sub-paragraph (iii) for “College of the Royal Academy of Dancing” substitute “Royal Academy of Dance”(3); and

(b)delete “(vii) London Contemporary Dance School;”.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations, which come into force on 1st September 2001, amend the list of institutions providing designated courses as set out in regulation 4 of the Education (Student Support) (Dance and Drama) Regulations 1999.

The institution’s change of name from the College of the Royal Academy of Dancing to the Royal Academy of Dance was approved by an Order in Council of 13th December 2000.
