Explanatory Note

The Extradition Act 1989(1) is repealed by Schedule 4 to the Extradition Act 2003. This Order repeals references in two Acts which contain references to the Extradition Act 1989.
Article 2 repeals provisions in the Crime (International Co-operation) Act 2003 that allow the Extradition Act 1989 to be applied in certain circumstances by Order in Council. Article 3 repeals section 243(3) of the Criminal Justice Act 2003. That provision contains definitions which refer to the Extradition Act 1989.
