The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 149(1) of the Pensions Act 2008(1).
1. This Order may be cited as the Pensions Act 2008 (Commencement No. 2) Order 2009.
2.—(1) The following provisions of the Pensions Act 2008 shall come into force on 26th January 2009—
(a)sections 62 to 64;
(b)section 128;
(c)section 132; and
(d)section 138.
(2) The following provisions of the same Act shall come into force on 6th April 2009—
(a)section 100;
(b)section 101 in so far as it relates to Parts 1 and 3 of Schedule 2;
(c)section 130;
(d)section 139;
(e)section 148 in so far as it relates to Part 2 of Schedule 11;
(f)Parts 1 and 3 of Schedule 2; and
(g)Part 2 of Schedule 11.

This Order brings into force sections 62 to 64, 128, 132 and 138 of the Pensions Act 2008 on 26th January 2009. It also brings into force on 6th April 2009 the following provisions in the same Act: sections 100, 101 (to a certain extent), 130, 139, 148 (to a certain extent), Parts 1 and 3 of Schedule 2 and Part 2 of Schedule 11.
A full regulatory impact assessment has not been produced for this Order as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
