This Order brings into force on 19th March 2012 section 29(1) to (3) and (5) and section 30 of the Criminal Justice Act 2003 for the purposes of allowing the following public prosecutors to institute criminal proceedings by issuing a written charge and requisition:
the Director of Public Prosecutions or a person authorised by the Director to institute criminal proceedings; and
the Director of the Serious Fraud Office or a person authorised by the Director to institute criminal proceedings.
The Criminal Justice Act 2003 (Commencement No. 16) Order 2007 (S.I. 2007/1999), the Criminal Justice Act 2003 (Commencement No. 21) Order 2008 (S.I. 2008/1424), the Criminal Justice Act 2003 (Commencement No. 23) Order 2009 (S.I. 2009/2879), the Criminal Justice Act 2003 (Commencement No. 25) Order 2010 (S.I. 2010/3005), and the Criminal Justice Act 2003 (Commencement No. 26) Order 2011 (S.I. 2011/2188) commenced the same provisions in the 2003 Act as they apply in other types of criminal proceedings or locations.
