3.  In these Regulations—

the Asbestos Directive” means Council Directive 87/217/EEC on the prevention and reduction of environmental pollution by asbestos M1[F1, as read in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 1A];

[F2“the Basic Safety Standards Directive” means Council Directive 2013/59/Euratom laying down basic safety standards for the protection against the dangers arising from exposure to ionising radiation][F3, as read in accordance with paragraph 2 of Schedule 1A];

the Batteries Directive” means Directive 2006/66/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on batteries and accumulators and waste batteries and accumulators M2 [F4, as last amended by Directive (EU) 2018/849][F5, as read in accordance with paragraph 3 of Schedule 1A];

the End-of-Life Vehicles Directive” means Directive 2000/53/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on end-of-life vehicles M3 [F6, as last amended by Commission Delegated Directive (EU) 2020/363][F7, as read in accordance with paragraph 4 of Schedule 1A];

the Energy Efficiency Directive” means Directive 2012/27/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on energy efficiency M4 [F8, as read in accordance with paragraph 5 of Schedule 1A];

the Industrial Emissions Directive” means Directive 2010/75/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on industrial emissions (integrated pollution prevention and control) M5 [F11, as read in accordance with paragraph 6 of Schedule 1A];

the Landfill Directive” means Council Directive 1999/31/EC on the landfill of waste M6 [F12, as last amended by Directive (EU) 2018/850], as read with Council Decision 2003/33/EC establishing criteria and procedures for the acceptance of waste at landfills pursuant to Article 16 of, and Annex II to, Directive 1999/31/EC M7[F13, and in accordance with paragraph 7 of Schedule 1A];

[F14“the Medium Combustion Plant Directive” means Directive 2015/2193/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on the limitation of emissions of certain pollutants into the air from medium combustion plants][F15, as read in accordance with paragraph 8 of Schedule 1A];

the Mining Waste Directive” means Directive 2006/21/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the management of waste from extractive industries M8[F16, as read in accordance with paragraph 9 of Schedule 1A];

PVR I” means European Parliament and Council Directive 94/63/EC on the control of volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions resulting from the storage of petrol and its distribution from terminals to service stations M9[F17, as read in accordance with paragraph 10 of Schedule 1A];

PVR II” means Directive 2009/126/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on Stage II petrol vapour recovery during refuelling of motor vehicles at service stations M10[F18, as read in accordance with paragraph 11 of Schedule 1A];

the Waste Framework Directive” means Directive 2008/98/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on waste [F19, as last amended by [F20Directive (EU) 2018/851]][F21, and as read in accordance with paragraph 12 of Schedule 1A];

the Water Framework Directive” means Directive 2000/60/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a framework for Community action in the field of water policy M11[F22, as read in accordance with paragraph 13 of Schedule 1A];

the WEEE Directive” means Directive 2012/19/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) M12 [F23, as last amended by Directive (EU) 2018/849][F24 , as read in accordance with paragraph 14 of Schedule 1A].
