Amendment of the Social Security (Payments on account, Overpayments and Recovery) Regulations 1988E+W+S
13.—(1) The Social Security (Payments on account, Overpayments and Recovery) Regulations 1998(1) are amended as follows.
(2) In regulation 1(2) (interpretation)(2), omit the definitions of “bereavement benefit” and “bereavement payment”.
(3) In regulation 8(1) (duplication and prescribed payments)(3), for sub-paragraph (i) substitute—
“(i)any widowed parent’s allowance under section 39A of the Contributions and Benefits Act;”.

S.I. 1988/664. Those Regulations were revoked by S.I. 2003/492 for the purposes of child benefit and guardian’s allowance.
The definitions of “bereavement benefit” and “bereavement payment” were inserted by S.I. 2000/1483.
Regulation 8(1)(i) was inserted by S.I. 2000/1483.
