Memorandwm Esboniadol
1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the EEA Passport Rights (Amendment, etc., and Transitional Provisions) (EU Exit) Regulations 2018.
(2) These Regulations come into force on the day after the day on which they are made, subject to paragraph (3).
(3) Regulations 2 to 4 [F1, 24, 70 and 71] come into force on exit day.
(4) In these Regulations, “the 2000 Act” means the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 M1.
[F2(5) In these Regulations “Gibraltar firm” means a person whose registered office is in Gibraltar or a person who has no registered office and whose head office is in Gibraltar.]

Asesiadau Effaith
Impact Assessments generally accompany all UK Government interventions of a regulatory nature that affect the private sector, civil society organisations and public services. They apply regardless of whether the regulation originates from a domestic or international source and can accompany primary (Acts etc) and secondary legislation (SIs). An Impact Assessment allows those with an interest in the policy area to understand:
- Why the government is proposing to intervene;
- The main options the government is considering, and which one is preferred;
- How and to what extent new policies may impact on them; and,
- The estimated costs and benefits of proposed measures.
