The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 123(4)(a) of the Education Act 2002(1).
1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the School Teachers’ Incentive Payments (England) Order 2018 and comes into force on 3rd September 2018.
(2) This Order applies only in relation to school teachers in England.
2. A lump sum payment made by a local authority in England or the governing body of a school maintained by such an authority to a school teacher under the Mathematics Early-Career Payments Pilot administered by the Department for Education is not to be treated as remuneration for the purpose of section 122(1) of the Education Act 2002.

This Order provides that lump sum payments paid to school teachers in England under the Mathematics Early-Career Payments Pilot administered by the Department for Education are not to be treated as remuneration for the purpose of section 122(1) of the Education Act 2002.
An impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as it has no impact on business or civil society organisations. The instrument has minimal impact on the public sector.
