Coming into force in accordance with regulation 1

The Registrar General, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 5 and 39 of the Births and Deaths Registration Act 1953(1), with the approval of the Secretary of State, makes the following Regulations.

1953 c. 20. Section 5 was amended by paragraph 6 of Schedule 6 to the Welfare Reform Act 2009 c. 24, paragraph 13(1) of Schedule 3 to the Children Act 1975 c. 72 and S.I. 1968/1242.
