The National Assembly for Wales is designated(1) for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972(2) in relation to the common agricultural policy of the European Community (subject to certain exceptions) and measures in the veterinary field for the protection of public health.

It has carried out a consultation in accordance with Article 9 of Regulation (EC) No. 178/2002 of the European Parliament and of the Council laying down the general principles and requirements of food law, establishing the European Food Safety Authority and laying down procedures in matters of food safety(3) as last amended by Commission Regulation (EC) No. 575/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council(4).

The National Assembly for Wales makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972:

SI 2005/2766 in relation to the common agricultural policy (subject to certain exceptions), and SI 2003/1246 in relation to veterinary measures for the protection of public health.
