These Regulations amend the Conservation of Salmon (Scotland) Regulations 2016 (“the principal Regulations”), which make provision for regulating the killing of salmon in specified areas.
Regulation 2 substitutes schedule 2 (inland waters: prohibition on retaining salmon) of the principal Regulations, which describes the areas of inland waters where there is a prohibition on the retention of any salmon caught.
Regulation 2 makes substantive changes to schedule 2 of the principal Regulations, as last amended by the Conservation of Salmon (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2022, at the following paragraphs: 25, 47, 55, 65, 66, 93 and 106.
A Business and Regulatory Impact Assessment in relation to these Regulations has been prepared and placed in the Scottish Parliament Information Centre. Copies of it can be obtained from the Scottish Government, Marine Directorate, Victoria Quay, Edinburgh EH6 6QQ and online at www.legislation.gov.uk.
