In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by sections 8(5), 40(7) and 41 of the Data Protection Act 1984(1) and after consultation with the Data Protection Registrar and with the approval of the Treasury in accordance with the said section 40(7), I hereby make the following Regulations:—

1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Data Protection (Fees) Regulations 1987 and shall come into force on 16th March 1987.

2.  The fee payable under section 8(5) of the Data Protection Act 1984 on the renewal of an application for registration shall be £22.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations prescribe a fee of £22 which is to accompany the renewal of an application to the Data Protection Registrar for registration under the Data Protection Act 1984. (The fee payable on an initial application for registration is prescribed by the Data Protection Regulations 1985 (S.I. 1985/1465).)
