This Order varies the Cod (Specified Sea Areas) (Prohibition of Fishing) Order 1988 “the principal Order”, which prohibits fishing for cod (Gadus morhua —
(a)by any British fishing boat registered in the United Kingdom or the Isle of Man within any part of a sea area specified in the Schedule to that Order, or
(b)by any British fishing boat registered in any of the Channel Islands or by any British-owned fishing boat within any part of such a sea area which lies inside British fishery limits.
This Order varies article 2 of the principal Order to provide that the above-mentioned prohibition shall not apply on and between 17th October and 31st October 1988.
The principal Order ceases to have effect on 31st December 1988.
