1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Social Security (Unemployment,Sickness and Invalidity Benefit) Amendment Regulations 1993 and shall come into force on 11th August 1993.
(2) In these Regulations “the principal Regulations” means the Social Security (Unemployment, Sickness and Invalidity Benefit) Regulations 1983(1).
S.I. 1983/1598; section 24(3) of the Employment Act 1988 (c. 19), paragraphs 1 and 4 of Schedule 5 to the Employment Act 1989 (c. 38) and S.I. 1988/1843 provide respectively that any reference to an officer of the Manpower Services Commission, Training Commission or the Department of Health and Social Security shall be treated as if they were respectively references to an officer of the Training Commission, Department of Employment or Department of Social Security.
