Citation, commencement and interpretation
2. A census of production taken by the Chancellor of the Exchequer(1) under the Act in 1994 and in each subsequent year shall be confined to undertakings the carrying on of which include any of the activities mentioned in Sections C to F (inclusive) of the Standard Industrial Classification. Matters to which returns relate

The function of the Secretary of State of taking a census of production under the Act was transferred to the Chancellor of the Exchequer, so as to be exercisable by him concurrently with the Board of Trade and the Secretary of State, by the Transfer of Functions (Economic Statistics) Order 1989 (S.I.1989/992).
