Explanatory Note
(This note is not part of the Order)
The Order authorises—
(a)the maintenance and operation of an existing railway in the parishes of Ripley and Riddings, Derbyshire;
(b)the construction, maintenance and operation of new railways (Works Nos. 1 and 2) in the parishes of Ripley and Riddings, Derbyshire; and
(c)the diversion of an un-named stream (Work No. 3) in the parish of Ripley.
The existing railway and the new works are or will be situated within the site of the Midland Railway Centre. The Order contains provisions for the maintenance and operation of those railways, including powers to construct and maintain a level crossing carrying the railway authorised as Work No. 1 across footpath No. 76 in the parish of Ripley.
The applicants for the Order are the Midland Railway Trust Limited.
Copies of the works plan and sections may be inspected at all reasonable hours at the Midland Railway Centre, Butterley Station, Ripley, Derbyshire.
