The Electronic Fingerprinting etc. Device Approval (Scotland) Order 1997

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 18(7B) of the Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1995(1), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Electronic Fingerprinting etc. Device Approval (Scotland) Order 1997 and shall come into force on 8th August 1997.

Device approved

2.  For the purpose of creating such records as are mentioned in paragraph (d) of section 18(7A) of the Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1995 (record of a person’s skin on an external part of the body), the device known as the Digital Biometrics Incorporation (DBI) Tenprinter 1133S, with palmprint option, is hereby approved.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order approves the device known as the Digital Biometrics Incorporation (DBI) Tenprinter 1133S, with palmprint option, for the purpose of creating such records as are mentioned in paragraph (d) of section 18(7A) of the Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1995 (records of a person’s skin on an external part of the body).
