1. This Order:
(a)dissolves the Development Commission on the 1st July 2000 (article 2);
(b)transfers some property to the Secretary of State and any remaining functions, property, rights and liabilities to the Countryside Agency (article 3); and
(c)applies the Superannuation Act 1972 to certain employees or former employees of the Development Commission and the Rural Community Councils with pension rights under the Development Commission (Staff) Superannuation Scheme 1984 to enable them to join the Principal Civil Service Pension Scheme (article 4).
2. The Development Commission (Staff) Superannuation Scheme 1984 was made on 25th March 1984 by the Development Commission under the powers conferred upon it by section 1(4) of and paragraph 4(3) of Schedule 1 to the Miscellaneous Financial Provisions Act 1983 and was amended on 28th May 1991. Copies of that scheme, the amendment to it and other relevant documents are available for inspection by appointment during office hours at:
