2. The Discharge of Fines by Unpaid Work (Pilot Schemes) Order 2004(1) shall be amended as follows—
(a)in article 2 for the words “31st March 2007”, substitute “31st March 2008”; and
(b)in the Schedule, after the entries relating to the local justice areas(2) in Gloucestershire of Gloucester, Stroud and Forest of Dean, insert—
“Local Justice Areas in South Wales:
Cardiff
Cynon Valley
Merthyr Tydfil
Miskin
Neath Port Talbot
Newcastle and Ogmore
Swansea County
Vale of Glamorgan”.
S.I. 2004/2198, relevant amendments were made by S.I. 2005/563, S.I. 2005/617 and S.I. 2006/502.
References in the Discharge of Fines by Unpaid Work (Pilot Schemes) Order 2004 to “petty sessions areas” were substituted by “local justice areas” by S.I. 2005/617, which was made under section 109(4)(a), (5)(b) and (6) of the Courts Act 2003.
