Section 11 of the London Olympic and Paralympic Games Act 2006 allows the Secretary of State for Transport to designate roads for the purpose of facilitating travel to and from London Olympic events or for other purposes connected with the London Olympics. Such roads are listed in the Schedule and form part of what will be known as the Olympic Route Network with effect from the coming into force of the Order.
In accordance with Section 40(6) of that Act the designation shall cease to have effect at the end of the fifth day after the day of the closing ceremony of the Paralympic Games 2012.
